Lomonosov (Arkhangelsk, Russia)AbstractThe article studies the manifestation of archaic sacred heritage in the landscape-topographical semiosphere of historical towns in Northern Russia. The author develops a “cosmogonic model of townplanning” and highlights the outstanding role of the myth and “building sacrifice” ritual in the process of construction, maintenance and preservation of the town’s sacred space.
