Funding: the publication of articles is funded by the founder as well as through the sales of electronic and printed (upon request) versions.Key Principles: 1. By submitting an article to Vestnik of Northern (Arctic) Federal University. Series "Humanitarian and Social Sciences", the author consents to its publication in the journal, its free availability online on the journal’s website, as well as to provide the text of the article (including references, bibliographic information, etc.) to the organizations authorized to receive it, or other organizations, in order to allow any users to cite this article and to increase the citation index of the author and the journal. 2. All journal articles are thoroughly reviewed (double-blind peer review). 3. All submitted manuscripts are edited according to the requirements for publication of scientific literature, Russian State Standards for publishers and international requirements of such databases as Scopus and Web of Science. 4. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of factual materials and data in their articles. 5. Materials published in the journal reflect personal views of the authors that do not necessarily coincide with those of the Editor. 6. The decision on the acceptability of the manuscript for publication is made by the Editorial Board of the journal. 7. The articles are published free of charge.
8. No honorariums are paid to the authors upon publication. 9. We pursue the policy of open access: the journal is available on the Internet immediately after publication, without any embargo periods. All information about the journal, its Editorial Board / Editorial Council, policies and ethical principles as well as related documents are available on the journal’s website in Russian and English. According to the journal’s business model: • the content is created by researchers; • all the processes of preparing articles for publication are paid for by the founder and publisher; • publication is free of charge for all authors; • no honoraria are given to the authors; • the publisher partly compensates the costs through the sale of printed (upon request) and electronic versions of the journal by subscription; for a fee, authors can request to be published in a specific issue of the journal (payment is accepted only after the manuscript has been reviewed and approved for publication, the fact of payment does not affect the decision to publish the article or the editors’ and reviewers’ evaluation of the manuscript); • the journal does not accept advertising;
• all articles in the journal’s electronic version are available to readers free of charge immediately after publication. Archiving Policy The journal articles and their metadata in Russian and English are archived on a regular basis. Archiving, indexing and depositing of the articles are done by the scientific electronic library eLibrary.ru according to Contract no. 253-06/2012. Full texts of the articles are also available in the Rukont electronic library system, Cyberleninka scientific electronic library, Lan publishing house, and in the systems of the Russian Book Chamber (ITAR-TASS) and Russian State Library. Print versions of the journal (up to the end of 2024) can be found in the Dobrolyubov Arkhangelsk Regional Scientific Library and in the Scientific Library of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov.
Authors are free to self-archive their articles as soon as they are published, by depositing short or full-text versions on their websites, blogs or pages on social media, as well as in open access repositories and open access libraries around the world, provided that the original source of publication is indicated and an active link to the relevant page on the journal’s website or on eLibrary.ru is given.
Preprint Policy The author(s) has the right to use a printed or electronic preprint of an unpublished manuscript in the form and content accepted by the publisher for publication in the journal. Such preprints may be posted as electronic files on the author(s)’ website or on a protected external website of the author(s)’ employer, but not for commercial sales or systematic external distribution by a third party. In this case, the author(s) must: 1) include the following warning in the preprint: “This is a preprint of an article accepted for publication in the journal Vestnik of Northern (Arctic) Federal University. Series ‘Humanitarian and Social Sciences’, copyright (year ____)”; 2) provide an electronic link to the journal’s website. The Author(s) is warned that the preprint can be published only after the article has been accepted for publication. Dealing with Errors If errors are discovered before or after publication, corrections are made through requests to the editorial board. Any complaints regarding the editorial board’s activities, including any alleged ethical issues or undisclosed conflicts of interest, shall be filed to the editor in chief. If the complaint is not sufficiently substantiated, more details are requested, followed by an internal investigation, during which all the parties involved are interviewed. If there is no response, information may be requested from organizations which these parties are affiliated with. Next, the materials are considered at an editorial board meeting and a decision is made regarding corrections, retraction or other actions/no action. The person who filed the complaint is informed about the outcome. Personal Data Policy The editorial board and the journal’s website administrators do not share personal data provided by users when working with the journal’s website to third parties, except for those cases and to the extent specified in the terms of the license agreement. The place of work and e-mail address of the authors of the manuscript accepted for publication as well as their identifiers in scientometric databases are given in the published article. The telephone number of the corresponding author will not be provided to anyone outside of the editorial office and will be used in case of emergency only. Acknowledgment of Funding Sources Authors should specify in their manuscripts the source of funding for the research and/or preparation of the manuscript, and briefly describe the role of the sponsors, if any, in the design of the study, experimental planning, data collection, analysis and interpretation, in the writing of the manuscript, and in the decision to submit the manuscript for publication. If no funding was received, this should also be indicated.
