Abstract

The paper analyzes the story Zavolochye by Boris Pilnyak. The impressions of the writer who took part in the scientific expedition to the Spitsbergen Island in 1924 were used as a material for this paper. This allows extending the aspect of studying the phenomenon of Northern text in the twentieth-century Russian literature.
