Lomonosov, Humanitarian InstituteAbstractThe article considers V. Belov’s plays "Over the Pure Water" and "Family Holidays" which artistically conceptualize the problems of social and spiritual involution of the family and society in Russia in the second half of the 20th century. V. Belov’s focus of attention is on the tragic discord between the state and a person. Family is presented as a micromodel of a society. Depiction of family values in their decayed condition is aesthetically and conceptually projected to evaluation of changes in the Russian society expressed in pervading estrangement.Keywordsdramatic works by V.I.
