Abstract

The article presents the description of historical stages of development of the problem of convergence of school course in mathematics with the mileposts of science, characteristics of its current status and the author’s suggestions for solving this problem with reference to teaching geometry. The basis for the proposed innovations is the idea of including computer experiment in the methods of teaching geometry, as well a considerable reduction in amount of non-algorithmic proofs of theorems in school textbooks.
