Abstract

This article dwells on the history of and current situation in the higher teacher education in the Arkhangelsk North. It describes the key stages in the history of Arkhangelsk Teacher Training Institute and, later, Pomor University, development of their structure and training of specialists with higher teacher education, as well as the work of Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov in this sphere.
