Alefirenko’s innovative ideas in his interpretation of the cognitive-pragmatic theory of phrasemosemiosis. Putting forward a number of reasons, he explains the relevance of and urgent need for a theory of cognitive phraseology. Alefirenko argues for differentiating such debatable phenomena as notion and discursive-modus concept. In addition, he determines the importance of connotation interpretation as a sociocultural component of the cognitive theory of phrasemosemiosis in order to penetrate into the deep mechanisms of indirect-derivative verbalization of cognitive categories. For citation: Fedulenkova T.N.
