(Hist.), Prof., Prof. at the Department of History of Culture, State and Law Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University, St. Petersburg, Russia,e-mail: vvk2@mail.ru, ORCID: https://orcid.org/0009-0009-0753-2273 AbstractThe paper covers the results of the discussion around the publication of volume 11 of the 20-volume History of Russia. The author demonstrates that this volume is based on the concept of the “Red Troubles” and “ochlocratical riot” developed by the historian V.P. Buldakov, which the latter fails to provide convincing arguments for. The author considers it necessary to produce a new edition of this volume with another editor in chief and a greater number of specialists on the subject.Keywordsvolume 11 of the History of Russia, historian V.P.
