Describing the ideological, technological and economic specifics of the first AI winter, which lasted from the early 1970s to mid-2000s, the authors point out that current technological trends and ongoing elaborations testify to the successful development of the AI sphere. This stage in the history of AI (from the second half of the 2000s) is called the new AI spring. It is characterized by the fact that achievements in the sphere of AI perfectly fit into the long tail economy, and further development of AI occurs according to its principles. Moreover, the article proposes the following thesis: the world will see as many types of AI as there are niches (subcultures/global villages). As key lines in the revival of AI, chatbots (personal assistants in the system of interactions, implemented primarily in social networks), blockchain technology (an electronic system for the registry of tangible and intangible assets), and bitcoin (cryptocurrency issued by Internet users) are considered. The authors focus on the important role of blockchain in global economy and on the design of digital economy in Russia, where a corresponding programme initiated by President Putin has been launched. In conclusion, the thesis is substantiated that AI is an embodiment of experimental philosophy, which in this form acquires economic value since it becomes an object of prime necessity and satisfies the needs of society.Keywordsartificial intelligence, spring of artificial intelligence, chatbot, blockchain, bitcoin, digital economy, experimental philosophyReferences
