This paper presents a comprehensive research into the functioning of these anthroponyms and toponyms from the viewpoint of English and German linguocultures. It provides the definitions of such concepts as mythonym, culture, cultural linguistics, general cultural vocabulary, anthropocentric paradigm, anthroponym, and toponym. The article focuses on comparative mythonyms with the anthroponymic component: their connotations in most cases are negative. Rich semantic content is typical of mythonyms with the toponymic component, due to the diversity of their background socio-personal semantic parts. However, it should be noted that toponyms can be used to identify objects of reality. The analysis reveals that mythonyms with anthroponymic and toponymic components of biblical origin in the English and German languages represent the historical memory of the people and refer to the general cultural vocabulary. General cultural words have the same lexical meaning and source language; they function in two or more languages, but do not always coincide graphically or phonetically. The original form of mythonyms with anthroponymic and toponymic components is established by the text of the Bible and are passed on from generation to generation.KeywordsBible, mythonym, toponym, anthroponym, general cultural vocabulary, cultural linguistics, English linguoculture, German linguocultureReferences
