Age-specific features of learning and levels of cognitive interest are singled out. The research is based on the experimental work with secondary school students. The paper presents the basic methods for determining the level of teenagers’ creativity, as well as the key ideas of the introduced methodology of brush painting at fine arts lessons. The experiment was aimed to unlock the creative potential and meet the needs and interests of teenagers with regard to their psycho-physiological features. In the course of the experiment, we found out that their creativity was better expressed and their learning was more successful in specially created teaching conditions with a developed methodological system activating pupils’ creativity. The study found that the more they are involved in creating their own products using brush painting, the higher the level of their creative activity at fine arts lessons.
