To identify these verbs one needs to have diagnostic (key, basic) words expressing the seme of probability and included in dictionary definitions of the verbs under study. The paper emphasizes that these words can be different parts of speech. The author also found that to identify the explicit or implicit seme of probability in the meaning of the verb one should take into account their semantization in explanatory dictionaries. In addition, this article provides examples of verbs whose dictionary definitions include the explicit seme of probability. Further, to identify the seme of probability it is important to use cognate and noncognate words: as a result of their interpretation at the next stages of the research, dictionary entries include diagnostic components with explicit semantics of probability. Thus, this article allows us to develop identification criteria for verbs with the semantic component of probability, which will broaden our common understanding of the linguistic expression of probability, the study of which is of great importance for both theoretical and applied linguistics. In general, the analysis of semantization of verbs with the semantic component of probability shows that linguists have been paying more attention to the expression of probability by means of language.
