Further, it analyzes the views of different authors on the nature of creativity, creative tasks and the ways of fulfilling them. Examples of creative tasks for testing creativity are given; main distinctive features of creative tasks and criteria for their successful performance are presented. Preference is given to the measurable criteria objectively underlying creative task fulfilment. We suggest an approach to assessing creativity based on the statistical analysis of the text written by the subject and describe its procedure. In addition, we tested this diagnostic approach on the texts of classical and modern writers, amateur writers and on formal legal texts. Statistical distribution of the results in this sample was analyzed; the advantages and disadvantages of this approach were considered and possible areas of its application were suggested.
