Lomonosov (Arkhangelsk, Russia) AbstractReforming public administration is a necessary condition for social and economic development ofthe region, competitive recovery of the economy, more active citizen participation and higher personal responsibility. Each region has its own reform composition reflecting the level of its economic development, politics and culture and, consequently, has its own concept of information policy. Modernization and creation of a new system of public administration aimed to improve its quality requires a new conceptual basis of regional information policy. The purpose of the paper is to reveal the effect of the changes in public administration on the content of regional information policy. The method applied is the structural and functional analysis of the approved documents on information policy in the Russian regions. This analysis has revealed typical structural changes in the regional information policy of government executive bodies. These results can be used to develop new concepts of information policy in the regions of the Russian Federation.
