Abstract

The author investigates activities of the Vorkuta Correction and Labour Camp in the years of the Great Patriotic War, major attention being given to the analysis of social and everyday conditions of prisoners and use of their labour, as well as characteristics of the quantitative and qualitative structure of the camp contingent.
