Abstract

The article deals with one of the little-studied areas of Russian-Norwegian cooperation related to the sociocultural policy of the 1990s – 2000s. Primary attention is drawn to the formation of Norwegian and Russian strategies in respect to the Far North / the Arctic while defining the place of sociocultural issues in them, as well as to the implementation of the corresponding national priorities in trans-border interaction between the northwest regions of Russia and Northern Norway within the frame of the Barents Euro-Arctic region.
