Abstract

The effect of geo-ecological factors on the development of natural resources of the Belomor-Kuloy plateau has been studied. The research focused on the development of the diamond deposit area (Arkhangelsk region), special attention being given to the problem of its drainage, reduction of the groundwater level and as a consequence – drying out of forests. The question of the structure of underlying rocks of the Belomor-Kuloy plateau has been studied; a theory of their structure has been suggested.
