AbstractAs a result of the soil and zoological researches conducted in spruce, pine and birch-aspen forests of the Komi Republic taiga subzone, we have evaluated diversity and structure of soil mesofauna assamblages. There have been revealed 19 taxonomic groups, 75 genera and 140 species of soil invertebrates. The soil macrofauna is characterized by the dominance of predator species inhabiting the forest litter. The highest diversity of mesofauna is found in floodplain birch and aspen forests with more than 70 species of invertebrates recorded. In other forests, two or three times less species have been detected.Keywordsmesofauna, taxonomic composition, diversity, structure, middle taiga forests. |
