AbstractWe have investigated spatial synchronization of brain bioelectrical activity of students during reading literary texts in Russian and English. The process of reading as compared to quiet waking has displayed an increase in synchronization of distant connections within beta- and theta-bands between the two hemispheres. During reading in English (as compared to reading in Russian), an increase in interaction between anterior associative areas within theta-band has been observed. We have also found forming of distant diagonal rostral and caudal connections in the high-frequency part of the EEG spectrum.Keywordsbrain bioelectrical activity, reading process, coherence, foreign language. |
