AbstractAs a result of the soil and zoological researches conducted in spruce, pine and birch-aspen forests of the Komi Republic middle taiga subzone, we have determined seasonal and interannual dynamics of the soil mesofauna population. Interannual dynamics lacks any regular pattern. Seasonal dynamics is represented by three types. A stable type without rapid increase or decline in mesofauna population is characteristic of the spruce bilberry forest. One rise in mesofauna population in June with subsequent gradual decrease by the end of the growing season was observed in birch-aspen forests. Two population peaks for invertebrates in June and September were recorded in other types of forests.Keywordsmesofauna, population dynamics, middle taiga forests, Komi Republic. |
