Abstract

The grain-size composition of the surface layer of bottom sediments in the estuarine zone of the White Sea Onega Bay rivers (Nizhma, Kyanda and Tamitsa) was investigated in the summer of 2010. The results of comparing grain-size composition of bottom sediments in estuarine areas and estuarine seashore of the Onega Bay rivers are presented in the article. Local features of bottom sediments are considered taking into account the channel morphology and hydrological conditions.

Keywords

grain-size composition, bottom sediment, estuarine area, soil fractions.
