Abstract

The article focuses on the history of establishment and activity of the metallurgical plant on the Unya River in the Pechora Region (now Komi Republic) at the turn of the 19th – 20th centuries. Having worked a few years, the plant produced nearly 900 tons of metal and was closed down for economic reasons. It was the last attempt to create an ironworks on the European North-East of Russia on the local ore base.
