Abstract

The article explores linguocultural decoding and encoding in simultaneous interpretation, aimed at ensuring effective intercultural communication. The authors analyse the theoretical aspects of these processes, emphasizing their close connection with the linguistic worldview and cultural contexts. Special attention is paid to the cognitive mechanisms inherent in simultaneous interpretation, including simultaneous perception, analysis and reproduction of speech, as well as their impact on the emotional and psychological strain experienced by interpreters. The primary focus of the study is on identifying key challenges faced by simultaneous interpreters. These include overcoming linguocultural differences, handling highly specialized terms, making decisions under time constraints and coping with stress. The authors highlight that successful transmission of cultural meanings requires not only linguistic competence but also a deep understanding of the historical, social and emotional dimensions of both cultures involved. Practical recommendations for optimizing linguocultural decoding and encoding are proposed. These include developing active listening skills and improving linguistic and cultural competence in the context of interpreting contemporary public speaking discourse. Particular emphasis is placed on incorporating cultural context analysis into educational programmes to prepare specialists for effective work in intercultural communication environments. The study confirms that considering linguocultural aspects and cognitive mechanisms of simultaneous interpretation is a critical factor in improving translation quality. The findings can be applied to develop new approaches in training simultaneous interpreters and to optimize their professional activities in the context of globalization. The article is intended for educators, students, practicing interpreters, and specialists in international cooperation.
