AbstractThe article presents an analysis of modern discussions about the Great Russian Revolution. The authors indicate the most significant studies of recent years on this topic. The interdisciplinary branch of revolution studies is contrasted with simplistic interpretations of the Great Russian Revolution, in particular, with the concept of the Red Troubles. The authors name historians who have consistently criticized this concept over the last decade. Further, the article dwells on such burning issues as intervention by invitation and the role of the Allied intervention in the Russian Civil War. In addition, the paper covers the history of the establishment of the Association of Researchers into the Civil War in Russia and its key areas of activity.KeywordsGreat Russian Revolution, Civil war in Russia, Allied Intervention, revolution studiesReferences
