Lomonosov (Arkhangelsk, Russia) e-mail: ipdk@yandex.ru AbstractTransport and geographical location is an important element of the economic and geographical position of the object. The estimate of transport and geographical location of the recreational objects with respect to the places of formation of the main tourist flows reveals the factors limiting or facilitating the transportation of tourists. This fact can help to optimize the regional planning of the tourism development, mainly to improve the tourist transport service. The Solovetsky Islands are the important recreational area of the Arkhangelsk region of global significance. The paper proposes a score of transport and geographical location of the Solovetsky Islands for tourism purposes. Herein the temporary and economic distances between the initial point of the tourist flow and the end point of the tourist interest are subjected to evaluation. The centers of tourist flows formation are connected with the Solovetsky Islands by the transport routes. These centers can be transit, but they are the points of departure of tourists to the objects of their interest. Transport and geographical location of the tourist attractions of the Solovetsky Islands with respect to the main centers of the tourist flows formation such as Arkhangelsk, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Murmansk and Petrozavodsk was estimated. The transport schemes of various types of transport, performing the scheduled passenger passages, are analyzed. Insularity of the recreational objects limits the ability of tourists and obliges them to use the airlift and maritime transport. Therefore, to improve the availability of the recreational objects of the Solovetsky Islands it is necessary to optimize the traffic plans of these transports at time, price and quality of service. The additional passages during the tourist season and synchronization of different types of transport can help to increase the flow of tourists to the recreational attractions at the islands.Keywordstransport and geographical location, recreational attractions, transport schemesReferences
