Abstract

To date the recreation becomes a profitable direction of development of any region. This fact leads to the rapid development of the territory, the expansion of recreational facilities ignoring their natural features. Resource assessment is a prerequisite for the determination of the recreational development. Various regional natural features have generated a large number of assessments and methodologies. The purpose of the research is to study the existing methods, the allocation of their positive and negative aspects, the universal assessment of recreational resources. The universal methodology allows zoning the country. The virtue of all methods is the specific features considerations of the estimated areas. However, there is no uniform evaluation criterion. In some cases, the natural resources were emphasized, in other circumstances – the nature components, or the assessment of the sociocultural and historical features of the area. Many authors have invested different meanings in the concept of recreation, and the assessment has got a subjective approach. It should be noted that to date there is a requirements revaluation of the recreational systems. Active forms of recreation become increasingly popular. This fact leads to a widening of the methodological approaches to the assessment and the complexity of their unification. The paper identifies the problems of the methodological framework developing for the evaluation of a recreational area. The work has a theoretical and methodological character and combines many points of view at the evaluation of recreational activities of specific areas of the country. The paper has a scientific-theoretical and problematic nature.
