Abstract

Due to the growing interest in comparative analysis of the levels of social and economic status of regions, the issue of assessing the levels of regional development comes to the forefront. One of the main indicators used to evaluate the quality of life and social tension in a region is urban crime rate. The paper dwells on the methods of economic and mathematical modelling to calculate the complex index of urban crime rate. An algorithm was developed for this purpose. The obtained results can be used to develop a scenario forecast. The proposed method was tested using the data on three towns of the Arkhangelsk Region: Severodvinsk, Novodvinsk and Koryazhma.
