Abstract

The article refers to a many years’ research on radioactive isotopes in the soils of Arkhangelsk industrial agglomeration. The research has discovered dependence of the natural radioactive isotope concentration and distribution in soil horizons on the soil type and its pedogenic rock. 137Cs concentration is under the value of the global nuclear fallout. 137Cs in the soils of Arkhangelsk industrial agglomeration is connected to organic substance; its migration speed also depends on the composition of the pedogenic rock.

Keywords

Arkhangelsk industrial agglomeration, soils, radioactive isotopes, quaternary sediments.
